Addleshaw Goddard Advises Mapfre Vida on Acquisition of the Ombú Building in Madrid

Addleshaw Goddard advised Mapfre Vida on the acquisition of the Ombú building in the Méndez Álvaro area of Madrid, a property currently leased to technology company EA Sports. The transaction concerns a 14,000 square metre commercial building with 240 parking spaces and some 12,000 square metres of green areas integrated into its design. The property has undergone a comprehensive renovation by the architecture firms Foster + Partners and Ortiz.León, and is presented as a benchmark for sustainability and energy efficiency in the Spanish real estate market. Originally built between 1903 and 1909, the Ombú building is a historic icon that has been adapted to meet contemporary needs, contributing to the consolidation of the Méndez Álvaro area as one of Madrid's most attractive hubs. With this acquisition Mapfre Vida reinforces its diversification and sustainability strategy by investing in a prime asset in a strategic location.
