Geldards advises ITA Group on acquisition of employee-owned C2 Events

Geldards represented ITA Group on its acquisition of employee-owned C2 Events Limited. The transaction saw ITA Group, a global provider of corporate engagement solutions, acquire C2 Events Limited as part of its UK growth and wider European expansion strategy. The deal is ITA’s third acquisition in the UK and strengthens the buyer’s ability to deliver international events on the ground in key European markets. C2 Events, founded over 20 years ago in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, specialises in international events for the healthcare sector and had previously adopted an employee ownership model. Considering the best path for the future of the business, C2 Events determined that a sale to ITA Group would secure the interests of its employees and the firm’s long-term prospects. The parties noted cultural alignment and a shared emphasis on employee ownership that should support a swift integration while preserving what makes C2 distinctive. Geldards has an established practice advising employee-owned businesses and those transitioning to employee ownership, and is increasingly engaged by both employee-owned companies and prospective acquirers. The firm’s expertise in this sector was also shared at the national Employee Ownership Association conference in November 2025, where topics included steps to take when a third-party offer is made for an employee-owned business.
