Deloitte Legal Advises NTC (Wise Equity) on Acquisition of Pharmathen Ophthalmic Business Unit

Deloitte Legal advised NTC, a company backed by private equity fund Wise Equity SGR together with Unigestion GP and Racer, in the acquisition of Pharmathen’s ophthalmic business unit, while Karatzas & Partners advised Pharmathen. KBVL Law Firm, a member of the Deloitte Legal Network, carried out the Greek law due diligence and Bernasconi, Martinelli, Alippi & Partners (now Aequitas Studio legale e notarile) conducted the Swiss law due diligence. Deloitte Business Solutions S.A. handled the Greek tax aspects of the transaction. The transaction concerns NTC’s acquisition of the ophthalmic business unit of Pharmathen. The acquired business unit comprises a portfolio of glaucoma treatments manufactured at various facilities in Europe and the United States and sold through a B2B model across Europe and selected international markets. With this acquisition, NTC strengthens its position as a European leader in the ophthalmology sector by number of units sold and broadens its therapeutic offering by entering the glaucoma market.
