Hauck Aufhäuser Digital Custody Secures European Crypto Custody Licence Under MiCAR

"HEUKING advised Hauck Aufhäuser Digital Custody GmbH (HADC), a subsidiary of Hauck Aufhäuser Lampe Bank, in obtaining BaFin authorisation under MiCAR to provide custody and administration of crypto-assets across Europe. HADC, a specialist for institutional clients, will continue to expand its business under the umbrella of Dutch ABN AMRO."

HEUKING advised Hauck Aufhäuser Digital Custody GmbH (HADC), a subsidiary of Hauck Aufhäuser Lampe Bank (HAL), in securing BaFin authorisation under the Markets in Crypto‑Assets Regulation (MiCAR) to provide crypto custody services across Europe. Under the authorisation HADC is permitted to continue offering the custody and administration of crypto‑assets such as Bitcoin throughout Europe. The MiCAR licence represents a significant milestone in HADC’s development: as a licensed crypto‑asset service provider it can offer secure, compliant and reliable custody solutions to clients across the region. For HAL, the approval under MiCAR is an important achievement; HADC was among the first companies to obtain a German licence for crypto custody services and has established itself as a specialist provider for financial institutions. HADC will continue to focus on institutional clients with its MiCAR licence and intends to further expand its business under the umbrella of the Dutch ABN AMRO. HEUKING represented Hauck Aufhäuser Digital Custody GmbH (HADC) with a team composed by: Dr. Dr. Johannes Blassl (Lead, Partner, Banking & Finance, Frankfurt), Svenja Brinkmann (Banking & Finance, Frankfurt).
