Dorsey & Whitney Advises KUIU on Sale to Conservation-Minded Investor Group

Dorsey & Whitney LLP represented hunting and gear retailer KUIU in its sale to an investor group composed of conservation-minded families and businesses. The transaction transfers ownership of KUIU to the investor group while preserving the company as a privately held, independently operated brand. Under the new ownership, Melissa Woolf will continue as CEO and the company’s existing organizational and operational structure will remain in place. The investor group has signalled a long-term orientation and a deep commitment to conservation. KUIU, founded in 2011 and headquartered in Dixon, California, is a direct-to-consumer technical hunting apparel and gear brand known for ultralight, high-performance products. The company has built a loyal following through innovative product design, advanced technical materials and its ecommerce model; it also operates four retail locations.
