Marriott Harrison advised Ankar AI in its $20 million Series A funding round led by Atomico, with participation from Index, Norrsken and Daphni. On 18 December 2025 Ankar AI, an AI operating system for patents, raised $20 million in a Series A round led by Atomico with participation from Index, Norrsken and Daphni. The company’s unified platform addresses longstanding inefficiencies in patent systems by supporting the entire patent lifecycle within a single workflow. Its AI capabilities help inventors and IP professionals identify gaps, assess originality, draft patent submissions, and detect infringements and new licensing opportunities. By bringing assessment, drafting and prosecution together and positioning AI as an assistant rather than an autopilot, Ankar’s platform enables teams to complete tasks in hours that previously took weeks. The product positions itself as a core infrastructure for innovation amid increasing competition for intellectual property in the AI era. The new funding will enable Ankar to double its current 20-person team, expanding engineering, product and design headcount and extending market presence across the United States and Europe. Marriott Harrison represented Ankar AI with a team composed by: Head of VC and Partner David Strong; Associates Iona Jones and Ivana Yuen.
