Macfarlanes advises Zurich Assurance Ltd on transition of longevity swap for Skanska Pension Fund

Macfarlanes advised Zurich Assurance Ltd in relation to the transition of its existing longevity swap with the Trustee of the Skanska Pension Fund to Standard Life. The transaction involved the transfer of Zurich Assurance’s longevity swap exposure to Standard Life as part of a broader arrangement to implement a £525m pensioner buy-in that covers all members of the Skanska Pension Fund. The move realigns the swap counterparty to support the buy-in, ensuring continuity of longevity risk management for pensioner liabilities.
