A&O Shearman Advises La Caisse on Proposed Investment in Stago

"A&O Shearman advised La Caisse (Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec) on entering exclusive negotiations to acquire a stake in Stago, joining a consortium led by ARCHIMED as majority investor. The investment aims to accelerate Stago’s growth and reinforce its technological and scientific leadership. Completion is expected in Q2 2026, subject to employee consultations and regulatory approvals."

A&O Shearman represented La Caisse (Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec) in connection with its entry into exclusive negotiations with Stago. The proposed transaction would see La Caisse invest as part of a consortium led by ARCHIMED, a healthcare-focused investment firm acting as the majority investor, as part of a plan to acquire a stake in Stago, a global leader in diagnostics and a specialist in hemostasis. The investment is intended to provide Stago with the resources necessary to accelerate its growth strategy while reinforcing its technological and scientific leadership, building on the recognised expertise of its teams. The transaction is expected to be finalised in the second quarter of 2026 and remains subject to the information and consultation process with Stago’s employee representative bodies, as well as to required regulatory approvals.
