Gianni & Origoni and DLA Piper Advise on Project Financing for New Felettino Hospital

Gianni & Origoni advised UniCredit in the financing transaction, while DLA Piper represented Felettino Hospital Service; PwC acted as financial advisor to Felettino Hospital Service and SDM Partners assisted Guerrato. The transaction concerns an €87 million financing subscribed by UniCredit in favour of Felettino Hospital Service, a special purpose vehicle controlled by Guerrato (95%) with a 5% stake held by Di Carlo, to support the construction of the new Felettino Hospital in the municipality of La Spezia. The operation was structured as a project financing and consists of two credit facilities: a senior facility of €82 million maturing in 2035 and an IVA (VAT) credit line of €5 million maturing in 2028. UniCredit acted as global coordinator and bookrunner, original mandated lead arranger, lender, agent bank and depositary bank, reaffirming its capacity to support complex socially relevant projects and its leadership in Italy in public-private partnership financing in the healthcare sector. The new hospital will be located at Via del Forno 14, La Spezia, and will cover over 56,000 square metres of healthcare space. The facility will comprise four towers connected by a central axis, with nine floors plus an underground technical level, and will provide 506 beds. Parking provisions include 889 car spaces (23 reserved for persons with disabilities) and 76 motorcycle spaces, along with landscaped areas and circulation routes designed to minimise flow interference and enhance landscape and environmental integration.
