Squair Advises Sportfield and Founder on First €1 Million Fundraising Round

Squair advised Sportfield and its founder Jean Maleyrat in connection with their first fundraising round. The transaction comprised a €1 million capital raise from private investors to support the industrialisation of sports infrastructure and the opening of new urban padel sites. Sportfield’s stated mission is to make sport accessible to all across urban areas, and the financing is intended to accelerate that development. Sportfield inaugurated its flagship court at the foot of the Eiffel Tower with the support of the City of Paris and Paris&Co. That pilot site exemplifies the company’s vision: the rehabilitation of urban brownfield sites, public‑private partnerships, broad public access including schools, seniors and local residents, and a strong commitment to increasing female participation, with a reported 50% female participation rate. The funds have enabled Sportfield to open two additional courts in Paris’s 16th arrondissement and four courts in Lyon. Squair acted alongside the founder to structure and secure the entire operation, including negotiating investment terms, drafting the legal documentation, organising future governance and preparing the contractual framework required for this opening round. The financing provides Sportfield with the means to accelerate growth and to consolidate a model already recognised for its social and urban impact.
