Rymarz Zdort Maruta, working alongside Orrick, advised Ocean Winds, while Norton Rose Fulbright advised the financing institutions led by the European Investment Bank in connection with project financing for the BC Wind offshore wind farm in Poland. The transaction comprises approximately EUR 2 billion in project financing to support the construction of the BC Wind offshore wind farm, one of Poland’s first large-scale offshore projects to reach the construction phase. The project, Ocean Winds’ first in Poland, has a planned capacity of up to 390 megawatts and has been awarded a 25-year Contract for Difference by Poland’s Energy Regulatory Office. The financing was provided by a broad consortium of international financial institutions, including the European Investment Bank and Instituto de Credito Oficial, alongside 13 international and local commercial banks and hedge providers. Once operational, the BC Wind farm is expected to generate sufficient electricity to power nearly 500,000 homes annually, support Poland’s energy transition and alignment with EU climate objectives, and contribute to local supply chain development and job creation.
