DLA Piper and ZSP Advokati advised Erste Group Bank, Erste Bank Novi Sad and UniCredit Bank Serbia on the EUR 225 million refinancing of a retail portfolio owned by Atterbury and MPC Properties. The portfolio comprises three major shopping centres in Belgrade — Usce, BEO and Mercator — and the transaction represents the largest real estate refinancing completed in Serbia to date. The refinancing enabled an optimized capital structure for the Serbian special purpose vehicles and their underlying retail assets. The deal was completed under market conditions that, according to the advisers, reflect continued investor confidence in the Central and Eastern European and South-Eastern European real estate markets.
