Stibbe advises Picnic on €430 million financing round to fund German expansion

Stibbe advised online supermarket Picnic on a €430 million financing round from existing investors. Picnic raised €430 million in the new investment round. The company will use most of the capital to pursue further expansion in Germany. Founded ten years ago in the Netherlands, Picnic now operates in the Netherlands, Germany and France. With the new financing the online supermarket intends to significantly strengthen its position in Germany: currently approximately 30% of German consumers live in a Picnic delivery area, and the company aims to expand that coverage to 50% within a few years.
