Stibbe advises Picnic on €430 million financing round

Stibbe advised online supermarket Picnic in connection with a €430 million financing round. The transaction involved Picnic raising €430 million in a new investment round from existing investors. The company intends to deploy the majority of the newly raised capital to accelerate its expansion in Germany. Picnic, founded in the Netherlands ten years ago, is now active in the Netherlands, Germany and France. Approximately 30% of German consumers currently live within a Picnic delivery area; the company aims to expand that coverage to 50% within several years.
