Dentons Cardenas & Cardenas advised Nuevo Cauca S.A.S. in connection with the financing of the Nuevo Cauca Project, which was provided by Bancolombia S.A., the Senior Debt Fund for Infrastructure CAF-AM Ashmore II, and the private equity fund SMBC - LarrainVial Debt - Infrastructure and Energy. The transaction involved approximately US$264 million in financing, with proceeds allocated to the construction of a dual carriageway linking the cities of Popayán and Santander de Quilichao in the department of Cauca. The financial closing of the transaction was completed on December 5, 2025. The financing will enable the execution of a new dual carriageway, a strategic corridor that will more efficiently connect Cali with the department of Cauca. The project is expected to reduce travel times in the region by approximately sixty (60) minutes and to generate 1,813 direct jobs and 270 indirect jobs.
