Anagram Partners Advises India-Japan Fund on ₹500 Crore Investment in EKA Mobility

Anagram Partners acted as legal counsel to the India-Japan Fund (managed by National Investment and Infrastructure Fund Limited) in connection with the fund’s ₹500 crore investment in EKA Mobility, with coordination from NIIF’s in-house legal team. The transaction comprises a ₹500 crore investment by India-Japan Fund into EKA Mobility, an automotive and technology company focused on commercial electric mobility. EKA Mobility is backed by Mitsui and VDL Groep and operates in the commercial electric vehicle sector. India-Japan Fund (IJF) is NIIF’s first bilateral fund, with a corpus of INR 4,900 crore. The fund’s capital structure includes a 49% contribution from the Government of India and a 51% contribution from the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (a policy-based financial institution wholly owned by the Government of Japan). Anagram Partners represented India-Japan Fund with a team composed by: Simone Reis (Partner), Shwetank Chaubey (Principal Associate), Anupam Nayak (Senior Associate) and Harsh Raj (Associate). NIIF in-house legal team represented India-Japan Fund and coordinated on the transaction.
