YPOG Advises ProSiebenSat.1 on Sale of wetter.com to FUNKE Mediengruppe

YPOG, together with COMMEO Rechtsanwälte, Pusch Wahlig Workplace Law and ALTENBURG Fachanwälte, advised ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE on the sale of its wholly owned subsidiary wetter.com to FUNKE Mediengruppe. The transaction was structured as an asset deal under which ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE will sell wetter.com to FUNKE Mediengruppe. The transaction remains subject to approval by the competent antitrust authorities and is expected to close in the first quarter of 2026. ProSiebenSat.1 said the divestment is consistent with its strategic focus on its core Entertainment business and will strengthen its financial base by reducing existing liabilities. wetter.com, co‑founded in 2000 and fully acquired by ProSiebenSat.1 in 2014, was integrated into the group’s digital segment. With offices in Constance, Berlin and Munich, the portal is one of the leading online weather services in the DACH region and operates across 15 European markets. Under FUNKE Mediengruppe, wetter.com is expected to complement FUNKE’s digital portfolio, which focuses on service‑oriented, wide‑reach consumer brands.
