Slaughter and May advises Monzo on acquisition of Hey Habito

"Slaughter and May advised leading digital bank Monzo on its acquisition of Hey Habito Ltd, the digital mortgage broker. The deal will give Monzo an end-to-end mortgage broking capability within its app and follows a period of strong growth. The transaction is expected to close in Spring 2026, subject to regulatory and customary approvals."

Slaughter and May advised Monzo on its acquisition of Hey Habito Ltd. The transaction sees Monzo acquire Hey Habito, the digital mortgage broker, extending Monzo’s product offering to provide a fully end-to-end mortgage broking experience within its app. The acquisition follows a period of exceptional growth for Monzo and is intended to simplify and improve the mortgage process for customers. Monzo Chief Banking Officer Kunal Malani commented that Monzo has transformed money management for millions of customers and that the acquisition represents a significant step in addressing the complexity of mortgages, bringing Monzo’s simplicity and transparency to a major financial life event. The transaction is expected to close in Spring 2026, subject to regulatory and other customary approvals.
