Hogan Lovells advises ICG Infra on partnership with W Power Storage to expand grid-scale battery storage

Hogan Lovells advised the European Infrastructure team of ICG (ICG Infra) on its partnership with W Power Storage, a German platform specialising in grid‑scale battery energy storage systems (BESS). The transaction establishes a partnership under which ICG Infra will back W Power Storage to deliver a multi‑gigawatt BESS project pipeline. With ICG Infra’s planned deployment of up to €500m, the platform will accelerate projects that are already in operation and under construction. The partnership is intended to contribute to the objectives of the EU Green Deal and to Germany’s climate neutrality targets and adds to ICG Infra’s existing portfolio of energy transition assets. Hogan Lovells advised ICG Infra on all legal aspects of the transaction, drawing on its cross‑practice capabilities and sector expertise in development, financing and structuring of energy transition and infrastructure assets.
