Stocche Forbes and Mattos Filho Advise on US$140m Sanitation Financing in Mato Grosso do Sul

Stocche Forbes and Milbank LLP advised Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation and the Japan International Cooperation Agency, while Mattos Filho Advogados and White & Case LLP represented Ambiental MS Pantanal SPE and Aegea Saneamento e Participações in the transaction. The transaction comprised a US$140,000,000 financing granted to Ambiental MS Pantanal SPE to support the expansion and modernization of sewage collection and treatment infrastructure across 68 municipalities in the State of Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. The financing was guaranteed by a corporate guarantee granted by Aegea Saneamento e Participações and was coordinated by Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation together with Banco Sumitomo Mitsui Brasileiro, which acted in multiple roles. The transaction was also secured by the debtor’s shares owned by the guarantor.
