CMS Albiñana & Suárez de Lezo advised Octave Capital, acting as lead investor, in the $44 million financing round closed by Bound4blue. The transaction closed at $44 million (€37.8 million) and was backed by a mix of major maritime corporations, fleet-owning families, climate-focused investors and public capital. The round was led by Octave Capital and Katapult Ocean and attracted new investors including Motion Ventures, the Odfjell family office and the ReOcean Fund — led by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation and Monaco Asset Management — alongside participation from existing investors such as Shift4Good, GTT Strategic Ventures, KAI Capital and CDTI (Innvierte SICC). The investment underscores a growing industry consensus that suction sails are emerging as an immediate and scalable pathway to decarbonise the global fleet while delivering commercial benefits. Octave Capital, a Singapore-based private equity and impact venture capital firm linked to major shipowner IMC, focuses on maritime innovation and sustainable ocean development by deploying catalytic capital and investing in regenerative solutions.
