Telles advised Ceval, a non-profit organisation specialising in sustainable development in northern Portugal, on the implementation of the Zero Carbon Naval Roadmap (RNCZ) project, which is funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR). The Zero Carbon Naval Roadmap project aims to contribute to the decarbonisation of the naval sector by encouraging companies and institutions to participate in the development of a roadmap for decarbonising naval industries. The initiative seeks to establish decarbonisation pathways for the maritime transport sector by 2050. Support for this objective will include sectoral diagnostics, renewable energy models, environmental, social and governance (ESG) benchmarking, emissions modelling and technical, legal and financial studies. The project also involves structured consultation with industry stakeholders to set targets for the 2025–2050 period. Telles supported the public financing process and provides ongoing legal assistance for the project. Its work includes advice on energy-related regulatory and contractual matters, preparation of strategic ESG and regulatory documentation, and drafting the contractual frameworks necessary for the project’s implementation. Telles represented Ceval with a team composed by: Ivone Rocha, partner and head of the Environment & Climate Change and Energy & Natural Resources practices; and Pedro Lousa Cabral, associate in the same practices.
