Simmons & Simmons advises UniCredit on tokenized corporate minibond for E4 Computer Engineering

Simmons & Simmons advised UniCredit in the structuring and subscription, alongside Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP), of the first native-digital, tokenized corporate minibond on a public blockchain issued by E4 Computer Engineering. The transaction comprises a €5 million minibond, 50% guaranteed by SACE. It represents a milestone in the digital evolution of Italy’s financial markets as the first minibond fully digitalised in compliance with the FinTech Decree and recorded on the Polygon POS public blockchain by the Registry Manager Weltix, which used the BlockInvest technology platform. The issuance is compatible with the tax exemption regime under Legislative Decree no. 239/1996. The minibond has a six-year tenor, including one year of pre-amortisation, and was subscribed in equal parts by UniCredit and CDP. Proceeds will finance strategic investments for E4 Computer Engineering, specifically the expansion of its Rubiera facility and the construction of a new data center.
