Cederquist Advises Alecta Fastigheter on Acquisition of Former Casino Building Hasseln 1 in Central Stockholm

Cederquist acted as legal advisor to Alecta Fastigheter in connection with the acquisition of the former casino building, the property Hasseln 1 (formerly Casino Cosmopol), from Svenska Spel. The property is culturally protected and has a floor space of approximately 5,300 square metres, most of which has been used as casino space. Alecta Fastigheter intends to develop the property with high-quality offices and event activities. The planned conversion will give the premises a new purpose and is intended to ensure that the building continues to contribute to a vibrant city centre in Stockholm. Alecta Fastigheter is owned by Alecta and its revenues are returned to Alecta’s approximately 2.8 million pension savers throughout Sweden. Alecta Fastigheter manages properties mainly in Stockholm and Gothenburg, and also in Jönköping, Kalmar, Lund and Örebro. The property value amounts to approximately SEK 56 billion. Cederquist represented Alecta Fastigheter with a team composed by: Erika Åslund, Oskar Högberg, Andrea Sedvall, Clara Norrbohm and Anna Perklev.
