Latham Advises Haven Energy on US$40 Million Financing to Expand Virtual Power Plant Network

"Latham & Watkins advised Haven Energy on a US$40 million financing comprising an equity round led by Giant Ventures and a debt facility provided by Turtle Hill, with additional equity participation from California Infrastructure Bank, Carnrite Ventures, Chaac Ventures, Comcast Ventures and Lerer Hippeau. The funding will accelerate partnerships with utilities and CCAs, expand leasing and Channel Partner efforts, and grow Haven’s VPP network."

Latham & Watkins represented Haven Energy in its US$40 million financing. The transaction consists of a US$40 million raise made up of an equity round led by Giant Ventures and a debt facility provided by Turtle Hill. Additional equity participation in the round came from California Infrastructure Bank, Carnrite Ventures, Chaac Ventures, Comcast Ventures and Lerer Hippeau. The new funding will accelerate Haven’s partnerships with utility companies and community choice aggregators (CCAs), expand its leasing model and Channel Partner Program for local installers, and support the continued buildout of one of the nation’s largest virtual power plant (VPP) networks. Latham & Watkins represented Haven Energy in the funding with a team composed by: Peyton Worley (New York partner, emerging companies deal team lead), associates Ed Grigoryan, Daphne Lambadariou and Martin Taxay; and Orange County counsel Josh Strathman, who provided advice on the debt facility, together with associate Sager Moritzky.
