Norton Rose Fulbright represents Waga Energy in US$180 million financing to expand renewable natural gas platform

Norton Rose Fulbright represented Waga Energy in the transaction; Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank acted as lender, with HSBC Asset Management serving as lender agent. The transaction comprised a US$180 million four‑year senior debt facility for Waga Energy, closing on 24 November 2025. The financing will support the company’s expansion of landfill gas (LFG)‑to‑renewable natural gas (RNG) operations across the United States and is reported as the largest non‑investment tax credit RNG financing in the country. Waga Energy upgrades landfill gas into RNG using its patented WAGABOX® purification technology. The RNG produced is injected directly into local gas distribution grids as a substitute for conventional natural gas, with associated carbon emissions reductions. Waga Energy operates 32 RNG production units across Europe and North America and has signed 13 gas rights in the United States with landfill operators in New York, Pennsylvania, Iowa, Indiana, North Carolina, Texas and California, representing a total capacity of five million MMBtu per annum. Proceeds from the facility will be used to develop Waga Energy’s US project pipeline.
