Maverick Advocaten obtains Vifo approval for investment fund's acquisition of high‑tech security company

Maverick Advocaten represented an investment fund in obtaining approval from the Bureau for Verification of Investments (BTI) under the Investments, Mergers and Acquisitions Security Screening Act (Vifo Act) for the acquisition of a Dutch company specialising in high‑tech TEMPEST security equipment. The target company develops and supplies hardware protection designed to limit electromagnetic signals emitted by small IT equipment such as laptops, printers, headsets, cables and servers. The proposed investment was reported to the BTI on 12 September 2025 in accordance with the reporting obligation and investment assessment requirements under the Vifo Act. On 13 October 2025 the BTI announced that no assessment decision was required, clearing the way for the acquisition to proceed.
