DLA Piper Advises Roam on Major Debt Raise to Accelerate UK EV Charging Rollout

DLA Piper advised Roam and Denham Capital Management on a major debt raise provided by NatWest, Triodos Bank and the UK Government's National Wealth Fund to support Roam’s UK EV fast‑charging rollout. The transaction is a landmark financing for the sector. The facility will accelerate the deployment of Roam’s UK destination charging sites and support the roll out of a 40,000‑site pipeline, which already includes 5,500 charging points under exclusivity. Roam has installed 3,000 charging points in the UK to date. Roam installs and manages alternating current (AC) fast‑charging points at locations where people park as part of their daily life — for example at workplaces, hotels, residential buildings and shopping and leisure centres — enabling a ‘charge while you park’ model that aims to give drivers greater flexibility and choice as EV adoption grows in the UK.
