Debevoise Advises BNY as Depositary Bank in Halyk Bank $475.41 Million Secondary Offering

"Debevoise & Plimpton LLP advised BNY, acting as depositary bank for Halyk Bank’s GDR program, in a secondary offering by Holding Group ALMEX of 7.6% of Halyk Bank’s outstanding shares. The offering comprised shares and GDRs sold under Regulation S and Rule 144A, with GDRs listed on the London Stock Exchange and the Astana International Exchange, totaling $475,410,000."

Debevoise & Plimpton LLP advised BNY, acting as depositary bank for the global depositary receipt (GDR) program of Joint Stock Company Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan, in the offering by Joint Stock Company Holding Group ALMEX of 7.6% of Halyk Bank’s outstanding shares. The transaction consisted of shares and GDRs sold in compliance with Regulation S and Rule 144A under the U.S. Securities Act of 1933, as amended. The GDRs are listed on the London Stock Exchange and the Astana International Exchange. The total size of the offering was $475,410,000.
