Hogan Lovells Advises Prospector Baseball Group on Purchase of Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp and Akron RubberDucks

Hogan Lovells advised Prospector Baseball Group (PBG) in its acquisition of the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp and the Akron RubberDucks from Ken Babby, principal and founder of Fast Forward Sports Group. The transaction saw PBG acquire both clubs in a single deal that closed on 9 December 2025 following approval from Major League Baseball. The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp are the Class AAA affiliate of the Miami Marlins and the Akron RubberDucks are the Class AA affiliate of the Cleveland Guardians. The deal follows Hogan Lovells' prior representation of Prospector Baseball Group in its acquisition of the Lancaster Stormers.
