Osborne Clarke Advises SPIE on Acquisition of Cybersecurity Specialist Cyqueo

Osborne Clarke advised SPIE Germany Switzerland Austria on the acquisition of cybersecurity specialist Cyqueo. The transaction strengthens SPIE's portfolio in the growth field of cybersecurity and reinforces its consulting and integration capabilities for security solutions in complex IT infrastructures. With the acquisition, SPIE gains a highly qualified team and expands its range of services in a security-critical market environment. Cyqueo, headquartered in Munich, is a solution provider specialising in cybersecurity with a broad partner network and expertise in Zero Trust, Cloud Security, Endpoint Protection and Managed Security Services. Its solutions currently protect 1.6 million users. The company maintains a high level of certification — on average around 16 relevant certifications per person — and is among the most highly qualified providers in the German market. Cyqueo is also one of the largest partners of Zscaler and Proofpoint in Germany, with partnerships in place for more than 15 years. Founded in 2003 by Philipp and Patric Liebold, Cyqueo today employs 28 people and generated revenue of around EUR 20 million in 2024. Rainer Hollang and Marcus Hänsel, representatives of the management of SPIE Germany Switzerland Austria, welcomed the acquisition, noting that the Cyqueo team brings comprehensive cloud-native expertise and a passion for cybersecurity, and expressing a warm welcome to the incoming colleagues.
