Foley Hoag represented Akamai Technologies, Inc. in connection with its acquisition of Fermyon Technologies, Inc. The transaction involved Akamai’s announced acquisition of Fermyon, a serverless WebAssembly company. Akamai intends to leverage the growing shift of artificial intelligence inference to the edge by combining Fermyon’s cloud-native WebAssembly function-as-a-service with Akamai’s globally distributed platform.
