Baker McKenzie Advises Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank on First USD 500 Million Medium-Term Green Syndicated Loan

ANZ (Singapore) acted as loan coordinator and Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) as loan administration agent."

Baker McKenzie acted for Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MB) in connection with MB’s first medium-term green syndicated loan, valued at USD 500 million. The syndicated loan was arranged by Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited (Singapore branch), Mashreqbank psc, Maybank Securities Pte. Ltd., Oversea‑Chinese Banking Corporation Limited and Standard Chartered Bank (Singapore) Limited, who served as arrangers and coordinators. ANZ (Singapore branch) served as the loan coordinator, and Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited acted as the loan administration agent. The proceeds will be used to support eligible projects as part of MB’s sustainability initiatives, marking an important milestone in the bank’s efforts to support sustainable development and Vietnam’s transition to a low‑emission economy. The USD 500 million facility is among the largest fundraisings MB has undertaken in recent years and adds to Baker McKenzie’s regional portfolio of high‑profile syndicated loan transactions, including a USD 1 billion sustainability‑linked syndicated loan for Aster Chemicals & Energy Pte. Ltd., a USD 4.2 billion loan for Gulf Energy Development Public Company Limited and Intouch Holdings Public Company Limited, and a USD 4.5 billion sustainability‑linked facility for Syngenta Group (HK) Holdings Co. Ltd.
