Ashurst Advises Newcastle Airport on Australia's First Guided Weapons Manufacturing and Maintenance Facility

"Ashurst advised Newcastle Airport on arrangements for Australia’s first guided weapons manufacturing and maintenance facility, to be operated by Kongsberg Defence Australia within the Astra Aerolab precinct. The onshore plant will deliver sovereign defence manufacturing capability and will produce and maintain the Naval Strike Missile (NSM) and Joint Strike Missile (JSM) for the Australian Defence Force."

Global law firm Ashurst advised Newcastle Airport on the arrangements for Australia’s first guided weapons manufacturing and maintenance facility. The facility will be operated by Kongsberg Defence Australia and will be situated within Newcastle Airport's Astra Aerolab precinct. It will bring sovereign defence manufacturing capability onshore to Australia and will manufacture and maintain the Naval Strike Missile (NSM) and Joint Strike Missile (JSM) for the Australian Defence Force.
