AkademikerPension becomes anchor investor in new European defence fund ETNA

"Bech-Bruun advised AkademikerPension on its anchor investment in ETNA. The newly established Danish private equity fund, backed by AkademikerPension, PensionDanmark and AP Pension, has raised EUR 220 million to invest in European SMEs in military technologies, cybersecurity and critical infrastructure, with a focus on the Nordics, Germany, Austria and Switzerland."

Bech-Bruun advised AkademikerPension on its investment as an anchor investor in the newly established private equity fund ETNA. ETNA brings together AkademikerPension, PensionDanmark and AP Pension as anchor investors and has raised EUR 220 million to invest in small and medium-sized European companies operating in critical areas such as military technologies, cybersecurity and the protection of critical infrastructure. The fund was founded by Frederik Busch, Florian Funk and Wolff van Sintern. Headquartered in Copenhagen and Munich, ETNA will focus particularly on opportunities in the Nordics, Germany, Austria and Switzerland. AkademikerPension, one of Denmark’s leading pension funds, joins the vehicle with a commitment to long-term returns and social responsibility, aiming both to enhance Europe’s resilience and to deliver strong returns for its members.
