AddLife AB acquires Opitek International and Pharmacold

MAQS Advokatbyrå advised the Swedish listed life science company AddLife AB and its subsidiaries in connection with their acquisition of the Danish companies Opitek International ApS and Pharmacold A/S. The transaction brings Opitek International ApS, a specialist in patient positioning, into Mediplast, a company within AddLife’s Medtech business area. Opitek’s product portfolio includes electric lifts, disposable slings and positioning aids for orthopedic and general surgical procedures. The acquisition supports AddLife’s strategic initiative to grow its proprietary product offering and to expand within the orthopedic segment. Pharmacold A/S, a Danish specialist in cooling technology and services for the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors, will become a subsidiary of Holm & Halby within AddLife’s Labtech business area. The acquisition complements and strengthens Holm & Halby’s Cold Storage division. Pharmacold delivers advanced, customised solutions for temperature‑controlled storage, including installation, service and technical support of refrigeration and freezing systems for laboratories and healthcare facilities. The deal strengthens AddLife’s service business and expands its capabilities in critical temperature management solutions for the life science sector.
