Latham & Watkins Advises Blackstone Credit & Insurance on Spin-off of AmTrust’s Global MGA and Fee Businesses

Latham & Watkins LLP represented Blackstone Credit & Insurance in the transaction with counterparty AmTrust Financial Services, Inc. AmTrust Financial Services, Inc., a global specialty property and casualty insurer, and Blackstone Credit & Insurance completed the spin-off of certain of AmTrust’s Managing General Agencies (MGAs) and fee businesses in the United States, the United Kingdom and Continental Europe into a new, independent company. The transaction was structured as a strategic separation of those MGA and fee businesses to establish an independent operating platform serving those markets. Latham & Watkins LLP represented Blackstone Credit & Insurance with a team composed by: a Hybrid Capital team led by partners Stelios Saffos and Peter Sluka, Global Chairs of Latham's Hybrid Capital Practice, together with partners Jordan Miller, Salvatore Vanchieri, Huw Thomas, Jon Fox, Fergus Wheeler and Paul Yin, and associates Tian Lin, Ariel Gershoig, Ian Lachow, Hafsa Raza, Alex Gulino, Andrea Fernanda Olaya Gomez and Drew O’Sullivan, with assistance from Harris Scott.
