Sagitta Acquires Donnafugata Golf Resort and Legal Advisors Involved

Legance advised a fund managed by Sagitta SGR, part of Arrow Global Italia, in the acquisition of the Donnafugata Golf Resort & SPA; Giovanardi Studio Legale assisted the selling companies; Riva Advisory supported the Arezzo family and their accountant; Gianni & Origoni assisted the Arezzo family and Marchese Orazio Arezzo; CDRA conducted the administrative and civil law due diligence and provided closing assistance. The transaction concerns the acquisition by a fund managed by Sagitta SGR of the Donnafugata Golf Resort & SPA, located in Ragusa. The resort lies adjacent to the Costa Ragusa Borgo and Resort, Arrow Global Italia’s first hospitality project, which will also be developed in partnership with Mangia’s, the Italian hospitality group operating 17 properties across Sicily and Sardinia. The investment contemplates a significant refurbishment and repositioning of the asset to elevate it to a five‑star destination. The redevelopment programme foresees a complete upgrade and repositioning of more than 200 rooms and private villas. Set on nearly 500 hectares, the property is situated within notable historical, natural and food-and-wine itineraries of Sicily and will be transformed to enhance its hospitality offering and market positioning. Legance represented the fund managed by Sagitta SGR (part of Arrow Global Italia) with a team composed by: Francesca Iannò (team lead), Davide Rossi, Antonio Spampinato and Vicenzo Acampora for real estate matters, and Riccardo Petrelli for tax matters. Giovanardi Studio Legale represented the selling companies with a team composed by: Cristiano Ruspi and Michele Falzone. Riva Advisory represented the Arezzo family and their accountant, Dr Roberto Maria D’Angelo, with a team composed by: Gian Filippo Riva (lead). Gianni & Origoni represented the Arezzo family and Marchese Orazio Arezzo with a team composed by: Massimiliano Macaione (partner) and Aldo Turella (counsel). CDRA carried out the administrative due diligence and the civil law due diligence and provided assistance at closing with a team composed by: Carlo Comandè, Enzo Puccio, Andrea Augugliaro, Filippo Morici and Tiziana Pellegrino (administrative due diligence) and Nicoletta Rampini and Giacomo Antonini (civil law due diligence).
