PXN Ventures Backs Eight Northern Startups Through PraeSeed Programme

Irwin Mitchell advised PXN Ventures on a series of investment transactions, assisting PXN Ventures in completing eight deals under the PraeSeed programme. The transactions follow the merger of Praetura Ventures and Par Equity to form PXN Ventures and comprise the second year of the PraeSeed cohort-based initiative. Under the programme, eight innovative startups across the North of England each received £200,000; the round is backed by the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund II (NPIF II). The investment round brings the total deployed through PraeSeed to £3 million and is designed to accelerate early-stage businesses by combining capital with hands-on support, including workshops on scaling, financial modelling and fundraising. The latest cohort spans a diverse range of sectors from green energy and fintech to medtech and AI-driven solutions. The investee companies are: ADTechOptima (Lancaster) – efficiencies in anaerobic digestion to convert organic waste into energy; Future Greens (Sheffield) – on-site microdigesters enabling food and drink manufacturers to monetise waste; Crediflow AI (Manchester) – automating credit analysis and risk monitoring for financial institutions; NeuWave Technologies (Manchester) – applying AI and historical data to improve maritime safety; Feasibly (Durham) – geospatial AI tools for solar site assessments; Respiosa (Liverpool) – developing a minimally invasive device to treat sleep apnoea; AUDITSU (Leeds) – RegTech solutions for app compliance with EU accessibility regulations; and Revela (Newcastle) – using AI to accelerate endometriosis diagnosis via ultrasound analysis.
