Law Firms Advise Northland Power on Acquisition of Two Polish Battery Storage Projects

"Hogan Lovells and Rymarz Zdort Maruta advised Northland Power on its acquisition of two Polish battery energy storage system projects from Greenvolt Power Group, which was advised by DLA Piper. The Mieczyslawow (200 MW / 800 MWh) and Kamionka (100 MW / 400 MWh) BESS projects (four-hour duration) are slated for financing and construction in 2026 at an estimated combined cost of EUR 200 million."

Hogan Lovells and Rymarz Zdort Maruta advised Canadian energy company Northland Power, while DLA Piper advised Greenvolt Power Group. Northland Power has acquired two battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in western Poland from Greenvolt Power Group. The Mieczyslawow project is sized at 200 megawatts / 800 megawatt-hours and the Kamionka project at 100 megawatts / 400 megawatt-hours; both feature a four-hour duration. Financing and construction are expected to begin in 2026, with a combined estimated cost of EUR 200 million. In 2024 Rymarz Zdort Maruta also advised Northland Power on the Energa Wytwarzanie joint venture. Hogan Lovells represented Northland Power with a team composed by: lawyers in Munich and Brussels.
