"Castrén & Snellman advised the Municipality of Tuusula in a preliminary agreement to sell an approximately 16.7-hectare Jokela site to funds managed by Blackstone for a proposed data centre campus. Zoning amendments enabling the project were approved in October 2025; an environmental impact assessment is planned for early 2026."

Castrén & Snellman advised the Municipality of Tuusula in the preliminary sale of land to funds managed by Blackstone. The parties have signed a preliminary agreement for the sale of an approximately 16.7-hectare site in Jokela, Tuusula. In October 2025, the Municipal Council of Tuusula approved zoning amendments for the Vallunlenkki area that permit the construction of a data centre campus. The preliminary agreement and the zoning approval are the initial steps in a process that, if implemented, would represent a significant investment supporting employment and economic growth in Tuusula and the surrounding region. The next phase of the project is the environmental impact assessment, which is planned to commence in early 2026. The buyer, Blackstone, owns QTS, a rapidly expanding data centre platform with more than 82 data centres in operation or under development across Europe and the United States. Castrén & Snellman represented the Municipality of Tuusula with a team composed by: Antti Kaakkola, Lauri Ylönen, Jessica Salmia.
