Bird & Bird advises Cosmobilis Group on strategic partnership and €50 million Macif investment

Bird & Bird and Efficience advised Cosmobilis Group, while White & Case advised Macif on the transaction. The transaction comprises a long-term strategic partnership and a €50 million equity investment by Macif, France's leading motor insurer, into Cosmobilis Group. Established in 2021 from the convergence of bee2link group's digital expertise, ByMyCar's network capabilities and rental company UCAR, Cosmobilis is a major automobility platform in France and Europe. Its global SaaS platform connects manufacturers, distributors, banks and partners, handling more than 1.2 million automotive transactions and 7.2 million workshop appointments annually, managing 250,000 rental vehicles, employing 4,700 people and generating €3.8 billion in revenue across international operations. The partnership aims to accelerate Cosmobilis Group's development by building a comprehensive ecosystem for simpler, more accessible and integrated mobility. It is structured around three pillars: the distribution of Macif insurance directly through Cosmobilis branches; access to tailored mobility solutions for Macif's 600,000 members, including the sale and financing of new and used vehicles; and the development of automotive repair initiatives intended to optimise costs and enhance after-sales service quality.
