Mason Hayes & Curran Advises Evergreen on Financial Close of Ireland's Largest Biomethane Facility

"Mason Hayes & Curran and Harcourt Capital advised Evergreen Agricultural Enterprises on the financial close of what will be Ireland’s largest biomethane production facility, financed by Eiffel Investment Group. The plant is expected to produce ~120 GWh/year, process 165,000 tonnes of agricultural feedstock, inject gas into the national network and complete construction in mid-2026."

Mason Hayes & Curran advised Evergreen Agricultural Enterprises on energy, project development and financing matters, and Harcourt Capital acted as strategic corporate financial adviser to Evergreen. The transaction secured project financing from Eiffel Investment Group for the development of what will be Ireland’s largest biomethane production facility, scheduled to complete construction in mid-2026. Once operational the facility is expected to produce approximately 120 GWh of renewable biomethane annually for direct injection into the national gas network operated by Gas Networks Ireland. The plant will process around 165,000 tonnes of agricultural feedstock each year for conversion into renewable gas and fertiliser. The financing represents a significant milestone for the Irish renewable energy market and is described as the first project financing of a biomethane production facility in the Irish market, reflecting the project’s scale and its role in national decarbonisation and energy security objectives.
