Dentons Advises Lenders on US$160 Million Financing to Capital Bank of Jordan

"Dentons advised a lenders' consortium including the EBRD, OPEC Fund, Arab Fund, SANAD Fund for MSME and the Green for Growth Fund on a US$160 million unsecured, 10-year term loan to Capital Bank of Jordan to bolster Tier II capital, expand MSME lending capacity and support green sub-projects aligned with the Central Bank of Jordan’s Green Strategy."

Dentons advised the lenders' consortium, which includes the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the OPEC Fund for International Development, the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, SANAD Fund for MSME (in respect of its Debt Sub‑Fund) and the Green for Growth Fund S.A., SICAV‑SIF, in connection with a US$160 million unsecured term loan facility to Capital Bank of Jordan. The 10‑year facility is intended to strengthen Capital Bank of Jordan’s Tier II capital base and to increase the bank’s capacity to finance micro, small and medium‑sized enterprises (MSMEs) across Jordan. Part of the funding is expected to support green sub‑projects, contributing to national sustainability objectives and aligning with the Central Bank of Jordan’s Green Strategy for the financial sector. Dentons represented the lenders' consortium with a team composed by: Tamsyn Mileham (Istanbul‑based partner and co‑head of financial institutions in Europe); Surbhi Malhotra‑Trenkel (Munich‑based counsel); Lara Battal (trainee solicitor).
