Khaitan & Co advised Barclays Bank PLC on its subscription to listed, secured non-convertible debentures issued by SMFG India Credit Company Limited. The transaction concerned the subscription to listed, secured non-convertible debentures (NCDs) issued by SMFG India Credit Company Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group, Inc. The issue comprised a base amount of ₹900 crore, with a green shoe option allowing for an additional issuance of up to ₹500 crore, and was made on a private placement basis.
