Slaughter and May advises Zurich on £6 billion longevity swap covering BBC Pension Scheme liabilities

Slaughter and May advised Zurich Assurance Ltd on its longevity swap with the BBC Pension Scheme and Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. The transaction transfers longevity risk for approximately £6 billion of pensioner liabilities, representing around 21,000 members of the BBC Pension Scheme. Slaughter and May was pleased to work closely once again with Zurich's Longevity Risk Transfer team, having advised them on four prior longevity derisking transactions in recent years.
