Slaughter and May advises Spotify on acquisition of WhoSampled

Slaughter and May advised Spotify on its acquisition of WhoSampled, with Slaughter and May acting for Spotify and WhoSampled as the target of the transaction. The transaction concerns Spotify’s acquisition of WhoSampled, a community-built database founded in 2008 that enables music fans to trace samples back to original recordings. WhoSampled’s technology will be integrated into Spotify’s new SongDNA feature, an interactive view that maps connections between songs and displays collaborators, samples and covers together in one place.
