Schoenherr advised Austria-based HS Timber Group on its acquisition of the Swedish wood processing company Mala Sag from Setra Travaror, a subsidiary of Setra Group; Vinge advised Setra. The transaction remains subject to regulatory approval. The acquisition covers Mala Sag, a well-established sawmill specialising in high-quality northern pine products sold globally. Key export markets for Mala Sag include Norway, Sweden, Japan and the United Kingdom. The business forms an important part of the regional value chain by supplying wood materials to the pulp industry and to local bioenergy producers. HS Timber Group, headquartered in Vienna, is a wood processing company exporting its products to approximately 80 destinations worldwide.
