"Burges Salmon has been appointed to Crown Commercial Service’s Legal Panel for Government (RM6360) as supplier on Lot 2 (Major Projects and Complex Advice) and Lot 5 (Rail Legal Services), following a recent Lot 1 appointment. The firm will advise UK central Government departments, public sector bodies and related entities on major projects, rail matters, regulatory compliance and dispute resolution."

Burges Salmon was appointed as a supplier to the Crown Commercial Service’s Legal Panel for Government agreement (RM6360), assisting UK central Government departments, public sector bodies and related entities. Under the agreement the firm has been named on Lot 2 (Major Projects and Complex Advice) and Lot 5 (Rail Legal Services). Through Lot 2, Burges Salmon will advise on major and complex projects, helping clients to navigate evolving project lifecycles, proactively manage risk and provide cross-specialism expertise to support new and existing policies where established solutions may not yet exist. The appointment to Lot 5 recognises the firm’s more than 20 years of experience in the rail industry and will see it continue to provide specialist legal advice across a range of rail projects and initiatives that support national transport objectives. Last month Burges Salmon was also appointed to Lot 1 (Core Legal Services), ensuring the Government has access to full-service legal capability for day-to-day legal matters, regulatory compliance, project support and dispute resolution. Crown Commercial Service supports the public sector to achieve commercial value in procurement and, in 2024/25, reported commercial benefits equal to £5.3 billion. Burges Salmon represented UK central Government departments, public sector bodies and related entities with a team composed by: John Houlden, Partner and Head of Public Sector; Chris Simms, Partner and Head of Transport.
