Norton Rose Fulbright Advises Citi on EFA‑Backed USD 180 Million Financing for India’s Power Finance Corporation

Norton Rose Fulbright and Mumbai firm JSA Law advised Citi on a financing supported by Export Finance Australia (EFA) to benefit India’s Power Finance Corporation (PFC). Under this inaugural arrangement, PFC partnered with EFA and Citi to secure a USD 180 million ECA‑backed financing facility from Citi. Citi acted as EFA coordinator, lead arranger, facility agent and EFA agent on the financing. The facility will support green infrastructure projects across India, including renewable energy initiatives, and is aligned with EFA’s commitment to sustainable infrastructure. This transaction marks EFA’s first major financing initiative in India, one of the world’s fastest‑growing renewable energy markets. The EFA‑backed structure is intended to help PFC access global liquidity more efficiently and to strengthen investor confidence in long‑dated, sustainability‑linked infrastructure assets, contributing to India’s broader energy‑transition roadmap and long‑term climate objectives.
